why did I choose my major?

When I was a little girl I wanted to do many things, a maths teacher, physical education teacher, an engineer or a dentist and many other things. I was a girl with a lot of imagination and I saw myself in every one of those professions that I mentioned and many others that I discovered while I was growing up. As you can see I had a lot of options but not much clarity of a choice for my future so when I reached my 18th birthday and I had to make the important decision regarding my future, I was still a little childish regarding my decisions. So one day my aunt who lived in Switzerland said to me: “Javi why don't you try Food Engineering, it's a beautiful career and path to follow” and she proceeded to tell me a lot of stories and adventures that she had thanks to her job, so that's when I decided and I applied to this career and nothing else so it was a big shot. 

After all the process I got in and it has been tough to maintain myself and I had to work a lot harder than my other friends, to find a study method that worked for me, but at the end it has all worked well for me.

My dream for the future is to have my own healthy food business.

A meal or food I really like

My favorite meal is noodles with tomato sauce and  fries, I know it's super simple, but for me there's no better thing, I love the colors of the sauce, the red of the tomato, the meat coffee, the flashes of orange, green and yellow vegetables, a perfect combination, and my god the fries , they are man's best invention, the taste and that crunchy texture drive me crazy.   Well I think everyone knows how to make noodles with sauce and fries, so I'd better tell them what  I like to put my to the sauce, besides the ground meat, I like to add carrot, paprika, tomato pieces, garlic and lots of onions. Onion is one of my favorite foods in the world. I think the explanation of why I like it so much, is simply that every thing I add it tastes a thousand times better and finally with regard to my health I try to eat them on special occasions, to eat everything I want and not gain so much weight because of all the carbohydrates and sugars of the processed tomato sauce

An expert / person in your field that you admire

  Well it took me a couple of minutes to think of a person that I admire and inspires me. This is my history teacher, she inspired and taught me that I can go as far as I want with my life. Her company, support and love helped me through my four years of high school to figure out how valuable, important and smart we all are.  Since the day that I met her that not all teacher are the same, her passion, and will to teach make her different form the rest, she make you be better and I think every student of hers will say the same.  I can still remember the last day of class where she approached me and said: “Javita you are going to be a great one” and gave me a ring that belonged to her, of course I started crying because I didn´t know what I had done to deserve this special person in my life.

My Favorite Piece of Technology

My favorite technological piece is my phone, it helps keeping me sane, thanks to my phone I have been able to keep in touch with the people that I love and feel them close to me. My phone is so important to me that I have named it Anastasia. What I do the most with it is being on Instagram and WhatsApp, in those applications I talk with my cousins and friends. I think it is a positive object in my life, in this moment I don’t know what I would do without it. During quarantine my phone has been something indispensable in my life because you can´t be with the people you care the most so technology has been an important contribution. Sometimes Anastasia makes me forget that I haven´t seen my favorite people in a long time.
